ADRC Senior Nutrition Program

Washburn County Senior Nutrition Program is available to seniors 60 years of age and older and people with disabilities. The purpose of the program is to reduce hunger and food insecurity in older adults and to promote health and independence with balanced nutrition and social interaction.

·       60 and older suggesteddonation of $6-$8 if not able to give can still eat with no donation

·       Under 60 full pricemust be paid $15

·       You must call the dayprior to reserve a spot to ensure food is made by calling the center you willeat at.

·       Monday-Friday11:30am

·       Evening Meal once per month at each site (1st Monday -Minong, 2nd Monday Shell Lake, 3rd Monday Spooner, 4th Tuesday Birchwood)

Spooner Memorial Library

Spooner Memorial Library is the premier community focused library of northern Wisconsin. In addition to traditional library resource, they also offer great programming to included focused efforts on addressing food insecurity.

Books and Bread: Located at Church of the Nazarene in Spooner

Fourth Wednesday of each month (December distribution: December 17) 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Drive through to receive free produce, meat, bread, dry goods, and library resources — no identification, residency, or income requirements needed. Multi-household pickups are welcome. This program runs monthly until further notice.

Washburn Co Food Pantry

Open Tuesdays 9-11am, Thursdays 1-3pm. Open to all

Washburn County Nutrition Program

Home Delivered Meals Delivering a freshly prepared meal 5 days per week. Frozen meals are also available for weekends. Eligibility requirements apply. Suggested donation: $3.50 per meal.

Wild Rivers WIC

Wild Rivers WIC serves Washburn County residents. For In-person visits or inquiry, please visit the Public Health Department at the Washburn County Services Building. WIC is Nutritional program that provides healthy foods, nutritional tips, education and counseling for pregnant women, breast feeding and post-partum, infants and children to age 5 who meet income guidelines, information and community resources.
