WashCo Wellness: Move for Your Mind!

WashCo Wellness: Simple Actions. Stronger Living. Healthier Together.
Let’s get stronger together, join us with our healthy living challenges to help inspire and develop healthy habits. These activities are designed to make wellness feel easy, and encourage everyone to build small, meaningful habits that support a stronger, healthier life.

The Activity: Move for Your Mind

Join us this October, for our FREE Healthy Living Challenge focused on movement! Regular steps, time outdoors, and daily movement can help improve mood, reduce stress, and support overall wellbeing.

This month, set a daily step goal that works for you, whether it’s 5,000, 8,000, or 10,000 steps. Every step counts! Make movement part of your daily routine and challenge yourself to reach your goal throughout the month.

Consider walking with your community at the 3rd Annual Mental Wellness Walk, hosted by Healthy WashCo. The purpose of the Mental Wellness Walk is to raise awareness; to demonstrate the impact mental health has on rural communities, the need for mental health resources and/or to commemorate a loved one lost to mental health battles.

Walk details: 10am start time, October 10th, 2026, at the Spooner High School Track.

Other Simple Ways to Move More

  • Take stairs: Choose stairs instead of elevators whenever you can.
  • Park farther away: Park at the far end of the lot when visiting stores or work.
  • Take desk breaks: Stand up and walk for 5 or 10 minutes during work breaks.
  • March in place: Walk or march while talking on the phone
